Indian Springs / Mid Island
This area does in fact have a fresh water spring that runs year round supplying hardy folks with water they can carry. There is a beach trail for the north beach where the warmer swimming waters are located along with clam and oyster beds and a spot with deep moorage. There's also Mermaid Rock where a small statue reminiscent of the Danish mermaid is perched. Access to the south side of the island is by the Sutherland Beach Stairs which is a community made winding staircase accessing the lovely warm south beach. Often on this south side you'll see seals and sometimes sea lions sunning themselves on a warm rock. The Savary Island Resort is also in this area - a great place to come and enjoy Savary. The main fire hall/community hall is also in this section. This is a hub for community activities where we line dance, do yoga, play bridge, have large fun fund raising events.Contact Todd
